Erasmus Multilateral Project AMELIE
"Advanced Master Programme of the European Academy of Legal Theory in European Legal Culture and Jurisprudence"

In order to establish a new European Joint Master's Course in Legal Theory under the roof of the European Academy of Legal Theory (EALT)  the AMELIE project consortium was established in 2010. It prepared and submitted a project application for the EU's Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus Multilateral Projects - Curriculum Development). The application has been successful and selected for EU funding in summer 2011. The AMELIE project ("Advanced Master Programme of the European Academy of Legal Theory in European Legal Culture and Jurisprudence") was presented to a wider academic public during the IVR World Congress at the University of Frankfurt/Main in August 2011 and was operating from 01 October 2011 to 31 December 2013.

During 27 project month, the structure, content, and legal framework of the new LL.M. curriculum with several (optional) mobility windows and dual and/or multiple degree tracks was developed and tested. The curriculum prototype and single testing modules (Academy Short Courses) were offered during pilot years in 2012/13 (at the University of Vienna)  and in 2013/14 (in cooperation with the Master 2 Recherche "Droit Public Comparé Européen" at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in French language). These development and testing phases within and beyond the AMELIE Erasmus MP are followed by the implementation of the final curriculum at the Goethe-University Frankfurt/Main from the academic year 2014/15 onwards.

AMELIE Ex Ante-Needs Analysis:

In preparation of the Erasmus Multilateral Project Application, EALT has carried out an ex ante-needs analysis for the AMELIE consortium in 2010/11. The analysis was meant to establish an evidence basis for the current needs in the development of a legal theory master program at the partner univertsities. The results of the analysis formed part of the project application and are available here:
